On the surface, rock star Jordan Kane has it all. His band No Rules is burning up the charts and headlining a world tour. His bodyguard doubles as a hot, kinky boyfriend who knows just how to push all his buttons. But behind the scenes, he’s suffocating.

Jase Hewitt never imagined he’d have a shot at bedding the larger than life rock star - never mind dominating him - but now he’s worried he’s in over his head. Jordan’s kinks run deep, dark, and sometimes dangerous, putting Jase’s desires to both pleasure and protect him at odds.

They might have a fighting chance at finding the safe, happy medium between what Jordan needs and what Jase is willing to give, but there’s one problem: Daniel, Jordan’s childhood best friend, the band’s talented guitarist — and a volatile, hard-partying drug addict. Jordan is determined to save Daniel from himself, but Jase has been there, done that, and desperately wants to protect Jordan from the inevitable heartache of watching an addict self-destruct.

When Daniel goes off the rails again, Jordan calls off the tour to get him help. Tension within the band skyrockets and pressure from the record label sends Jordan into a dark spiral. Now his band — and his life — are balanced on a knife's edge, and Jase is the only one who can pull him back... but only if the echoes of his own tragic past don't push him over first.

OMG! This is one of the best rock star books I have read. This story is quite a bit different than the other rock and roll books out. I loved this book. It is quite dark, and it doesn't let up. It is a very real kind of story, where from the outside it appears all is great, but from the inside it is not. You spend a lot of time hoping for the best, and you pray they all come though it ok. This one is a bit of a tearjerker, but the story telling is fantastic.
Jordan Kane has it all. He is a part on No Rules, a mega famous band on tour, doing shows for 20,000 fans a night. He has his best friend in his band, and a super sexy bodyguard. All should be well, but it is not.
Jase Hewitt is Jordan's bodyguard. He used to be in a band, but now he is protecting a man he has wanted for a long time. Jase was into the BDSM scene, and he had heard that Jordan was kinky.
The tour was going well, but Jordan's childhood friend was going off the rails again. Daniel was doing drugs and it was out of control. After one very long night, Jordan was about to make out with Jase when he got the call that Daniel had slipped out. Jase finds him high and brings him home, and Jordan is fried. He needs Jase to indulge in his kink of breath play. Jase does, but as a Dom himself, he knows how dangerous that is. They begin a sexual relationship that is more take than give, but it works for Jordan. He is burned out from watching Daniel destroy his life. Daniel and Jordan have a long history and they do love each other. They crossed a line a while back and nothing has been the same. Jase is concerned because he lost a boyfriend to overdose and sees the same thing happening with Daniel. He isn't sure he can take another one. Their relationship and the band struggles with Daniel's setbacks, and eventually the band has to get Daniel help. When things go very bad, Jase and Jordan might not be able to work through their pasts and demons. But they do need each other to be whole again.
This book deals with some very tough situations like drug use, breath play, and suicide which may not be suitable for everyone. I loved the book, but this is no fairytale, kleenex is definitely needed. This is a very powerful story and I loved it. I cannot wait to read more from these authors.
