Dakota Cadotte is on the run and alone. Forced out from his pack by the Alpha for being gay, Dakota fends for himself in the Denali wilderness. When he ventures too far away from his safe zone, he's put right in the path of a truck on the highway and right into the arms of Sam Waters.
The two hit it off immediately as man and wolf, but Dakota fears Sam won't be so understanding when he sees what he truly is. When Dakota shifts in front of Sam, the sparks fly, but Dakota's past and pack threaten their new-found relationship

I have been blessed in this life to not only have parents that support me, but kids that do as well. I grew up in a loving but "Old School" French household. My parents worked for the airlines (TWA) so I was able to see a lot of Europe as a kid. I moved to Seattle Washington at the age of 22 and stayed there for twelve years before moving to Alaska for a little over two. Fairbanks, AK was one hell of an experience and I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I spent a little over a year in South Carolina before moving back to Arizona. I then left for Kansas for five years and now reside in the South for another two years. I've been married to the military in one way or another for over half my life and wouldn't change a thing about it. Writing has become my fulltime job and I've never been so happy doing a job I love and being able to do it in my jammies. I plan on writing until I dry up and die. Hopefully, that won't happen soon!

This is the third book in the Assassin Shifter series. This is the first one to really delve into the werewolf part of the books. I loved this story because it gives you hope that we have a destiny and all of the bad things that happen to us have a reason behind them. It makes me feel like life isn't so random. The other beauty of these books is that there begins a new thread of the future books in them. You have the main story, but the list of characters stars to grow from here, you begin seeing tidbits for future books in them. This is Sam Waters and Dakota Caldotte's story. It is a heartwarming story of acceptance and love.

Sam is feeling lonely, he has no relationship, no sense of being needed. His mom and dad want grandkids and he isn't getting any younger. His friend Josh, a fellow Skull Blaster, convinces his to go to Alaska and help Wayne protect the park from poachers, and to get back to nature. He loves it there, but life does not stop, so he heads towards Josh and Mark's house.

Dakota was kicked out of his house at 16. His parents disowned him, and he had to survive. When he left with someone he had only known for a very short time, he almost lost his life. Thanks to a white wolf that bit him and left him in the care of a pack, Dakota was a werewolf. When he and the alpha's son were caught having sex, he was kicked out of the pack. He finds himself being chased by poachers when he strays to far from the park.

Sam hits the small black wolf with his truck. He takes the wolf with him, afraid that he is seriously injured. He calls his friends, Josh and Mark, and tells them what happened. They tell him that the wolf is Dakota, the same wolf that saved Mark from dying in the snow. Sam becomes attached to the wolf and decides to keep him. Sam goes to the bar down the road, and ends up saving "Darren" from a beat down. Little does he know that they were both werewolves, or that Darren is Dakota. They fall for each other, and Sam wants to help Darren. Things get complicated, but they meet up at the Denny's, where Sam learns the truth. Sam doesn't care, and brings Dakota home with him. We get to meet more of the wolves, but Dakota realizes that the former pack is going to come for him, and it could get dangerous. When he is abducted, the good wolves rally to him him back. But Sam won't let them do it without him, and the trouble begins. Can they save Dakota? Will they lose any of the good wolves? What happens when Sam rushes in? Will either of them survive what happens? Who is the big white wolf? This book changes everything that we know about these guys. A whole new world opens up, and I loved every bit of it. This is a great book, especially if you love paranormal stories.  If you have come this far and love these books, go ahead and grab the rest, they just get better and better!
