Read it following The Groundbreaking (prequel), Laying a Foundation (Book 1), and Tearing Down Walls (Book 2) to really get to know the characters intimately and follow their story.

This book was very difficult to read. It started out nice then got bad then got better then got even worse. I totally loved Kelly, she is such a gentle loving soul which made me hate Steve even more for the things he did. Although he did redeem himself at the end I don't know if i'll look at him the same way again but that's what makes this series so good it takes flawed people and has them work through their difficulties in however way they need to, to be able to get to their happy ending with the person they love. Be warned this book has a cliffhanger ending which leaves the life of one of our beloved characters hanging in the balance.
