Mitch Mingan has chosen to remain a bachelor; he doesn’t want anyone else to suffer his destiny. But when his cousin Ken dies leaving behind twin boys, it is up to Mitch to ensure his nephews are ready for what lies ahead. Inviting Ken’s widow Sarah and the boys up for the summer seems like a perfect start.

For Sarah, a summer up north is the perfect opportunity for her sons to get to know their father’s family. It’s also a chance for Sarah to learn the truth behind why her husband left his childhood home at such an early age. What she doesn’t count on is falling for their handsome host. She also doesn’t count on finding out the family legacy: Mingan means wolf!

I live in Stouffville, Ontario - that's in Canada, eh - with my husband, daughter, two part-time step-daughters, and two full-time calico cats.

When not at my full-time job or driving my daughter around for volleyball, I like to craft, read, go to movies, and write.

I am working on a series of (mostly paranormal) romance stories. I hope to have these stories published some day because, as a romance writer, I believe in happy endings!

This book deals with a gentleman by the name of Mitch and Mitch just happens to be a wolf when he shifts. He is doesn't want to be tied to anyone because he doesn't want to put someone in his life just to make them worry about him while he is out running as a wolf. He doesn't believe it to be fair and so he has stayed a bachelor. Those reasons for staying single seem to disappear a little bit when he invites his dead cousins wife up with her two boys.

Sarah has only seen Mitch twice. She doesn't know him or his family. But the more she is around Mitch the more she starts to relax and starts to get to know Mitch. The more she knows the more she loves. Especially meeting him in the kitchen by accident one night and she got to see the whole package! Sarah is in for a surprise once Mitch explains to her exactly what he is and that her boys are the same.

I have to say I fell in love with Mitch right off the bat. He has a kind heart and wants to take care of Sarah and her boys. Falling for her was the last thing I think he expected. He enjoys spending time with the boys and Sarah. Mitch in my opinion starts taking Ken's place as the father figure long before either him or Sarah ever have that thought. He wants to be the one to help her boys with the shifting, especially for the first time. He just wants to be in their life and never have them leave him. Sarah is to me a widowed mom trying to survive raising her two boys all by herself. She is scared and with growing boys, she needs to keep a close eye on them to keep them safe. Her and Mitch seem to connect almost immediately.

Love the story, love the author. Get yourself a copy because you will not be disappointed.

REVIEW - Dead Reaper Walking by Mina Carter

Book Title - Dead Reaper Walking
Author - Mina Carter
Publisher - Blue Hedgehog Press
ISBN/ASIN -
B00MUD9VUA

Underage witches, a breakout from demon prison and a new hellgate... What could go wrong?

Reaper extraordinaire, Laney Larson, is stuck in Liberty, Oakwood of all places, for two reasons. One, there's way more paranormal activity going on than normal for a little town like Liberty. And two, a sexy as hell cop called Troy.

So when the proverbial hits the fan and they get wind of a demon break-out from the third hell, a prison even the demon king himself won't set foot in, what's a reaper to do but strap on her blades and help track the escapee down? But then the creature takes her man, and all bets are off.

A reaper, a demon and a cop...will Death claim them all, or just one?

Mina was born and raised in the East Farthing of Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England) and spend her childhood learning all the sorts of things generally required of a professional adventurer. Able to ride, box, shoot, make and read maps, make chainmail and use a broadsword (with varying degrees of efficiency) she was disgusted to find that adventuring is not considered a suitable occupation these days.

So, instead of slaying dragons and hunting vampires and the like, Mina spends her days writing about hot shifters, government conspiracies and vampire lords with more than their fair share of RAWR. Turns out wanna-be adventurers have quite the turn of imagination after all...

(But she keeps that sword sharp, just in case the writing career is just a dream and she really *is* an adventurer.)

The boring part: A full time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She's addicted to coffee and would like to be addicted to chocolate, but unfortunately chocolate dislikes her

This is the first story I have read from Mina Carter. This is the second book and I haven't read the first one yet, but plan to in the very near future. I have to admit that the characters are very entertaining. This is the first book I have read that involved a reaper who can talk to humans. The two lead characters are Laney Larson and Troy the hunky policeman had me laughing throughout the book.

Laney Larson is a reaper. Death to be exact. She looks human but is far from it. She fights demons and anything else that gets in her way. She is a smart mouthed girl who doesn't think before she does anything. Why should she, she is a reaper, isn't like she can die or anything. She ends up in Troys little city named Liberty, Oakwood and everything falls apart. Having to deal with a demon is nothing much but falling in love with a human is not something she should ever do but Troy and her fall for each other quick. She is to take the souls of the dead but when her love Troy may end up dead, she does something she should never do, try to save a life instead of taking one. Big no no in the reaper world.

Troy is a policeman who has seen some crazy crap but meeting a reaper was something new. Laney looked like a human but really wasn't and he wanted this girl badly. He is possessive over her and she fights it all the way. They are made for each other. The sex between them is hot and left me breathless and all I did was read the book. Laney acts tough but on the inside she is scared just like anyone would be. Troy wants to keep her safe but she isn't one to sit back and wait to be told what to do. She knows what needs to be done and she goes and does it!

Can't wait to read more from this author. I really liked these two characters. I am so happy I have a new book couple to look forward too.

It isn’t long before Devon ends up over Professor Matthews’ knee for a hard, bare-bottom spanking. But even though he treats her like a wayward child, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to him. It seems sometimes as if he can read her most intimate thoughts, and there is a mysterious, supernatural power about him which she cannot ignore.

Publisher’s Note: Devon’s Discipline is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.

Adaline Raine is an avid reader of spanking romance and is known for reviewing every book she touches! Her newest release, Devon's Discipline, is about a young college junior stuck on a downwards spiral after the tragic loss of both of her parents. She meets Professor Matthews who has little tolerance for disrespect and he helps set her straight again through physical discipline.

Marked by the Alpha, Adaline's premiere story, literally shows us an alpha male werewolf turning his chosen mate over his knee for some well needed attitude adjusting.

Becoming a Lady, her second release, showcases spankings in a historical setting. Our lovely main character is poor and abused so when a tall man drugs her and steals her away from her village she is confused by his actions. He takes his time to teach and guide but his methods include his hand and her hind.

I couldn't put this down once I started it. Never read anything by this author but this will not be the last book I read of hers. She has the ability to make her characters come right off the page and into your mind that you need to know more about them.

Devon has lost her parents and instead of dealing with her grief she drinks to the point it is how she deals with all the mistakes she makes in her life. That is until she takes a Supernatural class and meets her hot professor Matthews. As soon as she walks into his class , she is attracted to him but doesn't understand why.

Professor Matthews has a secret that he has kept to himself. Very few people know this secret. He takes Devon under his wing and makes her realize when you do something wrong there always is a consequence. That would be a spanking by the professor. Devon is a smart mouthed girl who doesn't think before she speaks and the professor gives her discipline. Devon realizes she craves this discipline. I think she does wrong at times just to get the professor to reprimand her in his special way. I love both characters because of how each need something the other one can give but it takes awhile for them both to realize this. Devon bares more than just her real self to the professor.

The more the professor takes care of Devon, the more feelings arise. The sex between them is awesome! It's almost animalistic at times with such a need that both want cured. But then there are times when it's take it easy and enjoy each other. A little bit of both is what I crave in a book and this book hits it exactly!

Do you need a book that makes you wonder what will happen next, then this is one for you.

REVIEW - Stray Cats: Cat Flash by Megan Slayer

Book Title - Stray Cats: Cat Flash
Author - Megan Slayer
Publisher - Changeling Press
ISBN/ASIN -

Meliana has denied her powers as a witch because she'd rather fit into society. She doesn't want to stand out, but a woman with blue hair and the power to work magic doesn't necessarily blend in. She got the cat in an attempt to be normal, but this kitty has a secret and it's guaranteed to surprise.

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.

When she's not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school.

She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best.

This is the first book I have read of Megan Slayer and it definitely won't be the last. Her story flows smoothly and is a joy to read.

Meliana is a witch but she has denied her powers because if people knew she was a witch she wouldn't fit in with people. She really only has one true friend and that is a black cat she named Chaos. Chaos was her friend, her cuddle buddy at night and an ear to listen to her and watch her while she did spells in the secret of her apartment. But Chaos holds a secret and that secret is he is a shifter. Meliana was told that Chaos was a normal cat not a shifter sometimes things happen for a reason.

Chaos in his animal form is a black cat that has lived with Meliana for two years, ever since she picked him up from old lady Hildegards house. When he shifts he is Adrian, a handsome man. The first time he shifts he does it in bed right next to Meliana. She had started coming into her power and that made his mature faster and then he shifted. He needs to find his three brothers and he convinces Meliana she hasn't lost her mind and he is her cat but he needs help and she is the help he needs not to mention the love of his life.

A very good read and since I am a cat person that made the story even better. If you love cats, you will love this story because the cat is a gem of a guy in my opinion.

REVIEW - The Ranch Hand by Erin Bevan

Jason Haverty is looking forward to the fall horse drive, until his boss and uncle informs him one of the new cowboys coming in to help will be riding his favorite horse. His annoyance is furthered when the cowboy turns out to be a cowgirl—a quick-witted and confident blonde beauty. Trying to avoid her doesn’t work. The more time he spends with her, the more an unexpected protectiveness toward her grows.

Bobby Jo's Texas upbringing taught her to give just as good as she gets, a quality Jason finds frustrating and all the more endearing in this Southern Belle. When an accident on the trail places her in possible danger, Jason realizes she means more to him than he thought. The question is, does she feel the same?

I'm a wife, mother slash little bit of writer on the side. I spend most of my days shuffling three kids around, rocking our newest screaming addition to the family, cleaning the house and writing whenever I get the opportunity.

This was an easy read and I did enjoy it. The characters are easy to like and who doesn't like reading about a sexy cowboy.

Jason works on his uncles ranch and every year they have a horse drive across country and they have to borrow a couple of newbies from another ranch. Jason is expecting two guys by the name of Mike and Bobby. Not only is Jason upset because they will be newbies who have never been on a horse drive but when they arrive, Jason finds out that Bobby is not a guy but a beautiful gal with an attitude too match. Jason tries his best to try and tell her what to expect but all he can think about is what he could expect if they got together.

Bobby is not new to riding horses and she proves to Jason that she can ride anything that he dares her too. They both do not want to admit they are attracted to each other and both keep thinking what it would be to be with the other one. Bobby is trying to prove just because she is a girl, she can do just as good or better as a guy. While Jason is trying to protect her because he is having feelings for her. They make a cute pair.

I liked the book but the only thing I didn't like was the ending. I was hoping to find out how the horse drive ended and a little more about Jason and Bobbys budding relationship. I understand with it being a short read you can't put every single detail in the book. I felt it was rushed a little bit at the end.. But besides that, it was an enjoyable read.

REVIEW - Temptation by Sunny Lane

Book Title - Temptation
Author - Sunny Lane
Publisher - Musa Publishing
ISBN/ASIN -

A young woman searches for the sensuous inner female she fears has been lost.

Serena Briolette makes a conscious decision to recapture a sensual portion of her self she worries has become dormant. She enjoys dressing in a sexy and provocative manner while preparing for a night out on the town. Temptation greets her almost instantly and she delights in flirting with the possibilities. Will Serena resist or succumb to the wicked pleasures of the evening?

This story intrigued me from the first page until the very end. The author knew how to draw me into the story and keep my attention throughout.

Serena is a woman who wants to find her inner sexiness again. She wants to feel desired, to flirt with unknown men, and find a man who can make her feel wanted and valuable again. She does her routine and puts on a very sexy dress. She packs an overnight bag and off she goes to a very expensive hotel.

I think Serena is like almost every woman out there, that loses their self while life takes over. She knows she is sexy but she forgets that little detail sometimes. So doing all this starts to make her feel sexy again. She can't wait to meet that guy who will treat her the way she wants to be treated, at least for one night.

What I didn't expect was the ending. It was a pleasant surprise and I think it's a wonderful idea to do. Spice up your life and just enjoy the night while finding your inner sexiness. I really loved Serena and everything I think she stood for in this story. So worth the read.

Member of the Black Hills Pack in Los Lobos, South Dakota, Jace Matthews is sent to check out the new owner of a piece of land adjoining his packs. Once he steps into her small bookstore in Collins, he’s taken by surprise by the small, prim woman behind the counter. At once, he recognizes his mate. While the wolf inside urges him to complete the bond, Jace knows he must take his time with his human mate. But when danger arises, threatening Michelle’s life, Jace is done waiting. It’s time to claim his mate.

After she inherits her aunt’s property, Michelle Sanders moves to Collins, South Dakota, to escape the monotony of her routine life. Unfortunately, the only person she manages to befriend is not only the hottest guy on the planet, but also gay. However, she never expects a favor for her sexy new friend to result in a series of weird events that will change her life forever.

Melissa Limoges lives along the Gulf Coast with her OCD cat, Mr. Tibbs. Tax appraiser by day, romance writer by night, she enjoys anything coffee related, traveling, and reading happily-ever-afters.

This was a wonderful read. The characters were easy to like and the plot had me turning pages because I needed to find out what was going to happen.

Jace Matthews knew as soon as he seen Michelle Sanders that she was his mate. He wanted to mark her so everyone knew she was his and don't even try to mess with her. But he didn't want to scare her so he was moving slow and gaining her friendship before telling her she was his mate. It is his job to protect her and that is what he plans on doing. Besides protecting her, he needs to tell her he is a wolf, a shifter by another name.

Michelle Sanders is attracted to Jace Matthews but because of a big misunderstanding, she thinks females are not his type. She has fantasies about him most every night and she can't get him out of her mind. She is used to being alone but the feelings for Jace make her want to be his. I laughed out loud in parts of this book. Jace and Michelle are both trying to keep their feelings for each other hidden but secrets are hard to keep when someone is trying to kill Michelle and Jace is going to protect her.

This book had it all for me. Suspense, characters with a sense of humor and wanting to protect each other from harm. Not to mention some very hot sex! The details the author provides kept me totally interested and I only wanted more. Shifters, wolves, suspense and love in my opinion are the making of a great book. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Pain, abuse, brutality. That was my life. I struggled and stressed; cried until I forgot what tears were. But I worked hard. I clawed to the peak.

And then I lost everything.

Most people would have shattered.

I'm not most people.

My dreams are gone, but that's fine. I could have lived this tiny, broken life. I could have suffered in silence.

Until I met her: Noel.

God, she's so alive. She makes me ACHE and I just...

I can't ignore her.

So I won't.

Noel thinks she can handle me. Survive me.

If she knew the truth—could see into my mind—she'd smarten up and run.

I'm so lucky she doesn't have a clue.

--Author's Note-- This novel is a stand alone. It contains scorching sex, violent themes, and mature situations that could make readers uncomfortable.

A USA Today Bestselling Author, Nora Flite loves to write new adult romance (especially the dramatic, gritty kind!)

Inspired by the complicated events and wild experiences of her own life, she wants to share those stories with her audience.

Born in the tiniest state, coming from what was essentially dirt, she's learned to embrace and appreciate every opportunity the world gives her.

She's also, possibly, addicted to coffee and sushi.

Not at the same time, of course.

Check out her blog, noraflite.blogspot.com, also email her at noraflite@gmail.com if you just have some questions!

I adore Nora Flite's writing. I loved her Body Rock series and the book Only Pretend. This book is as good or better than those ones. It digs deep, combining gritty darkness and ballet dancing. I know, you are thinking- How? Seamlessly! It is a beautiful story wrapped in darkness and despair. The characters are so different, yet so similar. I loved the darkness in Carter. he is so easy to care about after you see how he got to be where he is. And Noel is so driven and determined, her strength is fascinating. This read will stick with me for some time.

Carter started dancing when he was very young. His home life turned into a horror show before he even had a chance, His parents abused him and beat him. Told him how stupid he was, what a failure he was. If he didn't win a competition, they would berate him and yell that he didn't try. He was so young, yet destroyed by their actions and words. They even threatened to kill his dog. So he trained harder and didn't lose any audition for two years. He was shutting down inside by 18. His parents were openly dealing drugs, his parents had killed everything good in his heart. He used women, never able to open his heart.

Noel was a talented dancer, she loved doing what her mom had done. She was going to go dance where her mother danced in Paris. She had promised her mother because her mother was dying of cancer. Her mother passed away, not knowing she had gotten in to a very elite ballet, Noel did not tell her. She wanted to dance where her mother danced.

When Carter's parents were murdered and his house burned down, he had nothing. The day of their funerals, there was an audition for the San Francisco Ballet. He had to go, he danced, but he noticed every flaw. Disgusted, he ran out of the theater before the decisions were told. He was attacked by people who knew his parents. One of them smashed and broke his knee. In a rage, he killed one of the attackers. And it fed the evil inside of him. It made him feel free. In the hospital, Mr Vince showed him that he had gotten in, only he couldn't with the broken knee. A failure again. Mr Vince hired him to teach in Paris. As soon as he could, he left for the school. Noel arrived in Paris and was accosted by a group of thieves. Carter saved her and disappeared. She found the school and made it work. When she came in early to train, she saw Carter dance. She was in awe. She fell for Carter, but his way of love was harsh, he wanted to hurt her. She needed him, he fed something in her. As hard as he pushed, she pushed back. He cared for her, but was scared for her. She was determined to help him. When they find out something about the school, the teacher becomes a dancer. But all is not well in Paris. Nothing ever comes easy and this is no exception.

Can they over come all the odds? Will Valerie destroy everything because of envy and greed? Can they save the school? Does anyone really get more than one chance in life? This book is gritty and raw and emotional. It is an incredible journey through a dancer's world. I could not put it down and I look forward to reading it over and over. Grab a copy and hang on for a wild ride!
