Shiv Crew by Laken Cane showed me one thing for sure. When things get critical, you have got to let your inner bitch out, or in Rune’s case, inner vampire. She is only part vampire, sort of. She is not sure exactly what she is, but she does not like that part of herself. She works with a special task force to keep Others in line.
There are some twists and turns in this book, with one that will definitely shock you. Just when you think you have everything figured out, that twist comes out of the blue. You will get to see Rune team up with some people that she would never usually associate with. This goes to show you that some that you would naturally considered enemies, could turn out to be allies.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I loved all of the characters in this book; I just thought that sometimes there was just too much. Of what? I couldn’t really say. I will say that I would recommend this book to all and will read anything else Laken Cane decides to publish. I have found another author to add to my favorites list.
